Color Palette

Writing Assignment: The 3 primary colors are red, yellow, and blue. Secondary colors are created by combining two of the primary colors. For instance, to make orange, I can combine yellow and red. Tertiary colors are created by combining secondary colors, for instance red and orange can create a red-orange color that is on the tertiary color wheel. Subtractive color is pigment generated and additive color is light generated. Color can affect our perception by using different shades; a color wheel going from light to dark can give off the appearance of a tunnel. One color can affect another because the color intensity of a color changes in relation to its surrounding color. A grey scale image can be a black and white image, and a monotone image uses tints and shades of only one hue. A image that uses complimentary colors could be a picture of a flower with a green stem and pinkish petals.

Job Research

One job that I would be interested in based on the description is Environmental Scientist. This job involves studying the relationship of living things and the places they live. They study environmental problems and the effects on plants and animals. I'm really passionate about the environment and specifically would want to become involved in a job like this because of the nature aspect. This job requires one to work outdoors and travel a lot and I like both traveling and outdoors. This job requires a degree in environmental science or ecology and it's part of the Environmental Service Systems Pathway. The salary range is $42,620 - $109,460.
Another job I would be interested in, for similar reasons as the first, is Wildlife ecologist. This job is only slightly different because they study populations, habitats, and conservation of wildlife, usually specializing in subtopics within the field of wildlife biology. The career pathway is also Environmental Service Systems Pathway and the education needed is same or degree in wildlife and wild lands science and management. The salary range is $41,480 - $112,400.
The third career I would be interested in is Potter. I've taken three years of ceramics and this is an art that I'm really passionate about and can see myself pursuing a career in it. Potters create bowls, pitchers, mugs, teapots, and other items from clay. Most are self employed, which is what I would choose to do if I made this my career. For this career one could get a degree in ceramic art and design. The career pathway for this job is visual arts pathway and the salary range is $18,920 - $45,100.

HDRI stands for High Dynamic Range Imagery. These type of images show a greater range between the light and dark areas, representing the range of intensity levels seen by the human eye more accurately. These pictures show HDR using a simplified process, however, in actual HDRI, photos are taken with multiple exposures and then these are combined. This process is called "tone-tapping." The results show a photo with an incredible paint-like effect.

Exposure Principles Project

Shutter Speed
Aperture
ISO
Shutter Speed is the feature on a camera that can be adjusted to take action shots. If you want to capture something that is in motion, a high shutter speed can be used to avoid motion blur. This means the shutter screen remains open for a shorter period of time, also letting in less light. For my shot demonstrating shutter speed, I used TV mode and set the speed to the fastest setting on the camera in order to capture my model in the air with no blur.
Aperture controls how much light enters the camera as well as the depth of field. With a bigger aperture the camera has a smaller region of focus. This is what I wanted for my picture demonstrating aperture so the focus was on the model. I used the AV mode so I could have a large aperture that would put the background out of focus.
ISO is the feature that measures the sensitivity of the media. A low ISO is the least sensitive, so the sensor senses less light. This feature can come in handy when shooting under low light conditions and gives an advantage of faster shutter speed so there's less motion blur. However, with a higher ISO the picture also becomes more grainy. My photo contains a picture with an ISO of 100, then 400, then 1600, and finally 6400. For these pictures I used the P mode and changed the ISO for each.
